The Way You Handle Your Leads is Totally Wrong!

Sales 101 teaches us that price is one of the lower determining factors that a prospect uses in making a purchase decision.

But what do 99% of all agents do when the get an internet lead?

They work up a quote right away and either call the person back with it or just email it to them, leaving the entire sales process up to the prospect.

The agent or his/her staff doesn’t do anything to add value or differentiate themselves from the other 6+ agents sending quotes instantly.

So what is the prospect left with to make their decision on? You got it, price…

And we all know that you will never, ever always be the lowest with price!

Now that’s just the mistake being made on the front end with the prospect.

Let’s take a look at the back end process.

I know a ton of agents that don’t do any sort of follow up with their leads, shame on them for that – but we’ll assume that you’re doing some sort of following up.

Here’s the typical follow up process I see agents doing:

1 or 2 phone calls along with 1 or 2 emails with extremely weak positioning that never get returned (unless you have the lowest price).

Exciting New Lead Generation Discoveries

It’s been a while since I last posted here as I’ve been locked away testing and refining new lead generation processes and helping my clients to become super successful with getting leads online.

Recently I have made some exciting new discoveries that I had to take a moment and share with you before the end of the year.

It has to do with generating exclusive cash value life insurance leads from websites with video.  Two big things have increased the amount of leads and decreased the cost of these leads in our testing.

1) Simplicity of the website – we’ve been testing multitudes of layouts and designs to find the right fit and discovered that plain & simple websites are by far the best.

2) Short and to the point videos – we’ve tested about 20 different video lengths and discovered that a 6 – 8 minute video is most effective.

These two discoveries have resulted in the cost of leads lowering to $35!

And we’re getting a high volume of these leads too – here’s proof:

The next exciting thing is that we are able to get appointments with 30% of these leads the same day by calling them immediately when the lead comes in.  These appointments are closing sales at an 80% rate with $4000 as the average commission.

The 14 leads pictured cost less than $500 and resulted in over $16,000 of 1st year commissions!!!

I like to pose this question to everyone I meet in this industry to see how they answer it.

For me, it originally was to have time to spend with my three young daughters with me to the right.

However, I learned after being in the business awhile that you don’t get a whole lot of time to spend outside of work, IF you do your marketing and promotion the way that the home office teaches you to do it…

So I set out on a journey to find ways to do marketing better, and I discovered them.  It made a huge difference in my business but most importantly my life became better because of it.  I don’t miss things like picking apples with my kids in the fall or conferences at school because I’m stuck in the office 80 hours a week anymore.

Consumer Confidence in Life Insurance Soaring

I just wanted to write a real quick post about an article I read on another site. The author talks about recent surveys that are showing soaring figures of consumer confidence in life insurance.

In particular as seeing life insurance as a viable option for financial planning purposes. People are tired of the Wall Street Casino and just want safe havens where they can grow their money guaranteed.
